In more than 40 years painting horses as metaphors for movement,
strength, and intelligence, Jean Richardson has enjoyed immense success
with every segment of the art-loving world. Richardson's expressive,
abstract compositions radiate energy in motion, with winning color
harmonies, exquisite textural variation, and an optimal visual
distillation of equine essence. Richardson grew up in a cultural
environment that fully appreciates the continuing importance of horses
in human history and the present. Her collectors include people who
have little direct experience with horses, but who feel the same wonder
the artist feels in capturing all the power, speed, and kinetic grace of
horses on canvas. Meet the artist at her opening reception on Friday,
July 12, from 5 to 7 p.m.
